Small fan MF20C in Ethernet gateway

Gateways enable systems that are not compatible to communicate with one another. The PCAN-Ethernet gateway DR by PEAK-System Technik GmbH enables the connection of different CAN buses via IP networks. Together with the top hat rail housing and the support of the extended temperature range, the module can be used in an industrial environment. The factors that play a significant role for reliability and service life are however the reduced temperatures in the device. In this respect the small MF20C fan has proved its worth. Despite its small dimensions of a mere 20 mm it ensures efficient thermal management.

The small MF20C fan was developed for compact designs. This axial fan is in the position to operate where space is restricted yet simultaneously where a great deal of power is required. As the small fan is equipped with the reliable MagFix® sleeve bearing, it can be used in the temperature range of 10°C to +80°C. The sleeve bearing was treated with special lubricants that maintain a stable temperature which gives the user considerably more flexibility. Thanks to the MagFix® bearing, the small axial fan also has a high service life expectancy of 210000 hours (MTBF) at 40°C.

The fans used in network technology must fulfil high requirements: they must be not only small but powerful. PEAK-System Technik GmbH rely on the reliable MF20C axial fan. It ensures that the air circulates evenly in the device and that there is no overheating and simultaneously guarantees that the gateways function even if the cooling of the control cabinet which houses the gateway is not functioning correctly or if adjacent modules transfer additional heat to the gateway.
