Thermal management is a technical obstacle that should not be underestimated as the processing of high-resolution image data generates a considerable amount of waste heat that is a critical factor affecting both the performance and the lifespan. The central element of the heat dissipation is the compact radial fan of the LY60 series that contributes actively to the cooling of sensitive electronic components and which enables the camera in the first place to sustainably exploit its full performance potential.
Compact and powerful: The radial fan series LY60
The LY60 by SEPA EUROPE is a blower that suctions in the air on both sides. This exceptional combination comprises a compact design, high efficiency and durability.
Despite its low spatial requirements, this fan has an impressive volume flow rate of 11 m³/h and creates a maximum dynamic pressure of 110 Pa. With these values, the blower is predestined for use in applications where efficient air flow and cooling in limited spaces is of vital importance.
In compact camera systems in particular, the space required for thermal management is extremely limited. This is where the LY60 display its full strengths: With its flat and lightweight design it can be seamlessly integrated in the camera housing without significantly affecting the actual size.
Cooling = Performance
Using the LY60 is not just a technical detail in a process, it is a condition for ensuring full performance. Without the radial fan, the camera system would overheat during longer or high-definition videos. In order to avoid damage, the camera would have to automatically reduce the camera performance with the result that 8K video footages or longer 4K sequences would not be possible. The installed fan prevents exactly that by reliably dissipating the generated heat and thus ensuring stable operation without loss of performance.
Durability and monitoring are standard
Reliability plays a vital role in professional applications. This is where the LY60 sets standards: the renowned MagFix® bearing system ensures an exceptionally long lifespan of over 210.000 hours MTBF at 40 °C. This fan is therefore not only a powerful but also extremely reliable component that is suitable for high-quality, long-lasting systems.
Furthermore, all variations of the LY60 series are equipped with a tacho output for monitoring the speed. The 5V version also has a PWM input that enables customized control. This is an important aspect in quiet devices, e.g. cameras where noise plays a significant role.
