Pin-fin PB heat sink – compact, pure
aluminium heat sink
SEPA EUROPE’s PB series of pin-fin heat sinks is specially designed to effectively cool small electronic components. Manufactured from pure aluminium (Al99,5) they not only have an excellent thermal conductivity but are also lightweight.
The impact extrusion enables an optimum heat distribution not only in the base plate but also in the pins. The PB heat sinks thus ensure a reliable dissipation of the generated heat loss even when space is limited.
Mounting is particularly easy: The heat sinks can be attached quickly and securely using a double-sided adhesive together with the thermally conductive tape TCT or alternatively with the fast curing two-component adhesive HERNON 476.

Heat sinks with integrated frameless fan
Compact and efficient cooling solutions are often a decisive factor for developers in the embedded sector. A well thought-out combination of a frameless 40 mm fan and an appropriate heat sink are ideal for the space-saving cooling of chips and hotspots.
The frameless fan with a diameter of 40 mm (actual rotor diameter: 37 mm) and a height of a mere 10 mm was specially developed for direct integration into the heat sink.
The frameless fan construction enables space-saving installation so that a very low level structure is possible. This is a big advantage in embedded applications with limited space.

Fan/heat sink combination HZ30B – ultra-flat with high cooling performance
With its HZ30B active cooler, SEPA EUROPE presents an intelligent cooling solution that is specially tailored to meet the increasing demands of the embedded computing sector. The ultra-flat chip cooler has a convincingly low installation height, high cooling performance and is easy to mount. In other words it is ideal for use in highly compact devices.
The central element of the HZ30B is the highly efficient MF 17B05 RaAxial fan that is not mounted on the heat sink as is customary but instead is directly embedded in the aluminium pin block heat sink. This type of construction reduces the overall height of the active cooler to merely 8 mm which is a decisive advantage when confronted with limited space.
The offset pins in the heat sink provide an effective airflow through the fan and thus enable an extremely high cooling performance when space is confined. The result is a thermal resistance of only 4.7 K/W which makes the HZ30B the ideal choice for powerful and heat-sensitive components.
With its particularly light weight of only 11 g the HZ30B has a clear advantage for mobile or weight-sensitive applications. Simultaneously, the integrated fan is exceptionally quiet which makes it perfect for use in noise-sensitive environments, e.g. in medical devices or sensitive control units.
Assembly is tool-free eliminating the need for screws. We recommend using the thermally conductive adhesive tape TCT that creates both a robust and thermally efficient connection between the heat sink and the component.

Power chipcooler HZB50B with a thermal resistance
of merely 1.4 K/W is also suitable for both
powerful processors and FPGAs
It is noticeable at first glance that the HZB50B has a very light and compact construction. It measures merely 50 x 50 x 11.5 mm and weighs only 39 g which renders it suitable for low installation heights. The heat sink was produced from pure aluminium by modern impact extrusion which means that large quantities can be manufactured cost-effectively.
Thanks to its robust ball bearing system, it has a service life of 350.000 h (at 40°C) and is thus particularly suitable for failsafe cooling.
The brass push pins ensure easy attachment. The PCB only requires preparing with the corresponding holes and reinforcements. The compression springs provide an ideal thermal transfer from the semiconductor to the heat sink.
The innovative chip cooler HZB50B is available with 5 and 12 V and can also be supplied on request with pre-assembled adhesive pads.
