Thermoplastic material (TPE) deforms when subject to heat and can be printed in any form. This is cost-efficient and quick. Tool costs that are normally incurred in the case of special productions can be saved. It is best to plan the fan sleeve already during the construction of the housings and devices, however fan sleeves are also suitable for subsequent installation and retrofitting existing devices as they are simple to mount.
The fan sleeves not only create a seal between the intake and pressure chamber, but they also eliminate the transmission of vibrations and oscillations of the fan to the housing wall. The reduction in noise by several decibels is clearly audible. The sleeves also protect the fan against vibrations and this in turn has a positive effect on its service life.
