Axial DC fans for the modulator DTU-315 by DekTec
Our customer DekTec is a special provider for portable modulators for television and video technology on laptops or tablets.
Task:
The DTU-315 is a portable modulator for satellite, terrestrial, and cable in a single device. It fits laptops or tablets, but is also suitable for desktop and server PCs. The challenge was to develop a cooling concept that is not only powerful, but also quiet and compact enough.
Solution:
SEPA EUROPE has developed the ideal solution for the efficient cooling of DekTec’s portable RF modulator DTU-315 and supplies the popular high-performance fan MF17A05. With its dimensions of only 17x17x8mm, it is very compact and fits perfectly into the RF modulator. Nonetheless, it is very powerful and has an airflow rate of up to 0.9 m³/h.
As sleeve bearing technology has advanced over the past years, axial fans with the smart MagFix® bearing can boast a long service life. The magnetic fixation, the increase in lubricant in the sintered bushing and devices to prevent loss of the lubricant have all been improved. Thanks to these new developments, our sliding bearing systems have a service life expectancy of up to 210000 hours (MTBF at 40 °C).
SEPA fans equipped with the MagFix® technology develop less structure-borne noise than comparable fans of other designs and types. Thus, the axial fan MF17A05 can score with a pleasant noise level of only 6 dB(A).
