left;\">Task<br><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>For an application in the rail sector, the SEPA blower HY45T05A-830 had to fulfill extensive customer specification requirements.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px; text-align: inherit;\">Solution<\/span><br><\/h3>\n<p>As rail transport is also provided in mountainous areas, a question arose at the beginning of the project as to whether air pressure fluctuations at great heights could damage not only the fan but also the bearing and the lubricant. Rail applications are known for their high requirements with regard to shock and vibration resistance.<\/p>\n<p>We would like to go somewhat more into detail with regard to the temperature stress and dust tests that we found extremely interesting.<\/p>\n<p>The planned temperature shock test covered a range of -10\u00b0C to +85\u00b0C with 2000 temperature cycles. The output signal of the fan was monitored so that the speed could be evaluated. The aim of the measurement was to determine whether the expected speed fluctuation of the fans would remain within an acceptable range. The fans withstood the test. As the speeds remained in the desired range, the next challenge commenced.<\/p>\n<p>The dust test poses a challenge for every single electromechanical component but it is necessary to prove its resilience under adverse environmental conditions. The test took place in compliance with the ISO2653 IP5K. The dust had a particle size of &lt; 100 \u00b5m and was supplied in a concentration of 2Kg\/m^3 within 3 sec. This test was carried out periodically with a cycle duration of 15 min. The entire test was carried out twice, the first time for a period of 20 h and the second time for&nbsp;approx. 6 h. The aim of the test was to determine whether the fans would fail due to this exposure to dust or be damaged externally. The result exceeded our expectations as a test lasting 20 h represents an extreme load on the fan.
