Electronics in the cockpit<\/strong>
\nThe aircraft cockpit is equipped with central control, navigation and communication systems that all generate heat. If the heat is not effectively dissipated, system failures and potentially critical situations can be the result. Fans, therefore play a major role in ensuring that the operating temperature remains constant and likewise the stability of the aircraft systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

The super light LY60B<\/strong><\/a> radial fan is particularly suited for the aircraft cockpit. It operates reliably where ample power is required yet space limited. The blower has a flow rate of 11m3 per hour and builds up 110 Pa pressure in extreme cases. It suctions in the air on both sides and is available in 5V and 12V. All models have a tacho output, the 5V version also has a PWM input. <\/span><\/p>\n

As weight represents a critical factor in aviation, fans and other cooling systems have to be light and compact so that the overall weight of the aircraft is not significantly increased. In-flight entertainment<\/strong>
\nIn-flight entertainment is an essential element of passenger flight experience and requires reliable yet low-noise thermal management. Fans play a decisive role in the cooling of sensitive components and their low-noise<\/strong> performance is essential for ensuring the comfort of the passengers. These fans must be efficient, durable and virtually noiseless when running. Airlines that place emphasis on optimum cooling and acoustic quality ensure both the functionality of their systems and the satisfaction of their customers.<\/p>\n

The LF40P<\/strong><\/a> axial fan is one of SEPA <\/em>EUROPE\u2019s most popular fans and is ideally suited for providing reliable and quiet thermal management on board the aircraft. The new fan blades considerably improve the performance while maintaining the same noise level.\u00a0The hub was deliberately kept as small as possible to avoid excess \u201cdead space\u201d in the centre and to aerodynamically optimize the longer rotor blades. The blades are elegantly curved with a cut at the ends. Ground Power Unit (GPU)
\n<\/strong>In avionics the Ground Power Unit (GPU) is decisive for providing an aircraft with electrical power while it is on the ground. It maintains the necessary electrical power supply required for the aircraft systems to prevent the overload condition of the on-board power unit or engines. This is of vital importance during maintenance and boarding. The GPU supplies the avionics systems, lights, air conditioning and other electronic components with electricity. The cooling of the ground power unit is essential to ensure the service life of the electronic components, control electronics and the energy storage system as well as to maximize the operational safety. Without efficient cooling, the GPU can overheat which can result in both premature failures and affect the safety and reliability of the entire power supply while the aircraft is on the ground.<\/p>\n
